Hello everyone! I was putting my engine back in my 85 Vmax ( it has been a couple of months had trans done) and I cannot get the rear heat shield in properly. I remember it as being bolted to the rear pipes. Do I really need the heat shield? Can I just wrap the exhaust pipes with a heat wrap...

You can separate the compressor from the air horn easily. Makes fitment easier. There are 2 retaining points. Then it comes apart. I'm sure you can see what needs doing. :punk:

Hopefully this will be easy to answer..... I know the footpegs changed at some point (I have both the 1985 and 1996 microfiche), but is the fitment the same size? ie. if I get late model front pegs, will they fit an 85's bracket? Basically if I get aftermarket pegs designed for the later...

hey guys i have a 85 vmax just wondering will newer vmax mufflers or exhaust fit the older bikes i like the look of the newer mufflers?

Has anyone had any problems fitting their Corbin seat? When I put mine on, the bolt holes don't line up. I can't tell if it is getting hung up on something or not. If I have someone sit on the seat, I can get the bolts in, but I figured it should fit better than that.

I looked but didn't see it...the parts numbers are different because the paint changes every year... Will the early front end fender fit the later front end? (an '85 fender for a '01 bike)? Thanks.....
