    First time replacing rear tire

So I'm looking to replace the rear tire on my Yamaha VMX 1200 V-Max 2002 I was wondering if there are any instructional video and/or list of tools needed. I'm also curious to the torque specs needed for the bolt on the rear axle. Any information is highly appreciated.

    Time for some brake pads.

I'm thinking I'll need to install some new pads this Spring. What can I expect to pay for a full set, and where's a good place to get them? How crappy are these ebay pads for 27 bucks shipped? Thanks!

    Bench racing time!!!

Well It’s that time of year… so time for some bench racing! Soooo lets say I just won the lotto and have a few bucks to spend on moding my ’97 V-max. Now I want this to drive on the street and I kinda want a Q-ship. That is, if a crotch rocket pulls up next to me, I would like him to think I...

    Long time no post!

Hey hey! Alright... So I am sitting in my hotel room at Ft. Leonard-wood. Got here end of last month and will be here till mid Dec. If you remember I was having problems with my Vmax, I figured out that when we put the headlight in it was blowing out the TCI and ended up re-wiring it and...

why do valve clearances tighten up over time?

So I can add Valve Clearance Adjuments as another notch in my DIY Success Stories Belt. :eclipsee_gold_cup: And as maleko89 and one2dmax forcasted, I found my clearances either w/in tolerance or too tight So my question: Even though, Sean provided an explanation, my naivety is preventing me...

    once in a life time

Dunn tire park had open racing last night. Only three bikes came. Me, a zx14, and a gsxr 600 r. Raced the zx14 6 times. won 5 of them. only lost the one because of my mistake. I've heard of eating humble pie, but this guy had a whole bakery full. Every time we went I was waiting for him to blow...

    its about time

Been waiting 6500 miles for this. Pulled off 80/94 and gassed up. Head back to the on-ramp and a Harley is making a left, so I let him go and setteled in behind him. He let me hear his Rineharts down the ramp a couple times. Merge onto the highway and there is 2 lanes side by side wide open...

May make it out Sunday for a little track time.

Found a few things wrong and fixed them. Going to strap my frontend down and remove my rear shocks and replace them with solid units for the track. We'll see how it works. Maybe I ll get time to dig into my carbs soon. There should be a little bit of power in there someplace! Going to...

Odyssey battery hang time, two thumbs up

My battery has remained installed in the bike while I've been building a motor for the last year and a half with no maintenance charge that whole time. It's been in the back of my mind that it was prolly gonna be crapped out. I just put a meter on it before hooking up a trickle...

Honda unveils the most boring bike of all time

With the launch of the new NC700X. Someone in the comments put it nicely....it has about as much personality as a dishwasher. Even Honda can't figure out exactly what it's for. An adventurer? An urban commuter? A two up tourer? I guess with the popularity of the crossover vehicle market...

First time deep into the throttle

WOW what a fun time I just had. I bought my max about a month ago and today I had my first real chance to run her a bit. I did some alley sliding and some roll on romps up to about 120 on I-75. Am I pleased with the results. I also had the pleasure of pissing off a vrod that caught me at the...

    The Time Has Come!

Hello everyone! I am a long time lurker (since 04-15-2008), but this is my first post. I joined when I first thought I was going to be able to buy a V-Max. Unfortunately the economy hit me pretty hard and pretty early - but I never gave up. Now, quite a few years later, I finally have some cash...
