The Vmax community can never use enough support! Nice to see they are finally getting on board with a "Modern" forum setup. While it may not be everyones cup of tea to join the VMOA and I understand why some may not care to join, I think it is still good for ALL Vmaxxers in general to get the Vmax "idea" out there for more to see.

I have high hopes because I absolutely hate the Yahoo GROUPS layout and setup. It has to be the most inconvienant and non-user friendly format in the world.

Call me a whore but if there is only one thing I can say good about the VMOA it is that it has paid for itsself MANY, MANY times over in member discounts.

The problem is that we only have one person.....Mike Sayers handling ALL applications. He receives quite a few every week. It doesn't help that it's up to him to keep the membership database current and to also answer all membership questions.

Cool, the new forum board should get morre traffic....I've never really liked the yahoo chat groups either....

I just joined the new board under the same name as here...hope to see you all there as well.....

I think the Yahoo chat is and anchient news group format also. But I think the guys that are in there use it because, 1. it is easy to use with a mail program like outlook and thunderbird and other email programs. And 2. They are just set in thier ways and affraid to accept change. They're comfortable with the way things are and don't want to get used to something new. Sorta like the VMax... Basically Unchanged for 22 years. LOL!

Buster, the reason I like Yahoo! is because I get emails for every post. Is there a way to do that in vmaxforum.net? I get email notifications from the VMOA section because I'm moderator....is it possible for me to get every new post?

Mark,
You can subscribe to a thread or a forum with the thread or forum tools link at the top of the page. Then in your options you can chose to recieve email notifications for your subscriptions.
Then you will recieve an email with each post that you are subscibed to.

The forum tools button doesn't work for me. Nothing happens when clicked.

I checked your Mod rights for this forum and you should get an email when anyone posts anything in this forum.
Also at the top of each thread is a button called Thread Tool, where if you click on it, one of the options is to Subscribe to the thread. This will send you an email when anyone posts in the thread. If it doesn't work, PM me with any error that board sent you.

I found the problem. I use Vmax Dark for style and when I switched to something else it worked. I have since gone back to work and now the menu shows up. Thanks guys.

Re: Awesome development!! hey Buster

UH Buster do you mind hooking me up with that. I mean if anyone posts on the vmaxfroum.net itll give me an email. Thats mostly the reason I dont use this as much. I like to be notified when someone posts so I can add a dumbass comment that shows I dont know what im talking about ... or so i can highjack a thread. :eusa_dance: Just kidding about that btw. But I would like you to set up my account so I can recieve all emails. my email is [email protected]
By the way I just found this forum by doing endless searchin on vmax and it poped up. I am not sure alot of yahoo groups guys even know U have this. ( as I am A yahoo group guy ) Do you mind if I let them know.?
how much does it cost to run this? and is there a paypal place to donate to you?
Thanks Jon Lewis VMOA #4701

Everyone has the option to be emailed when someone posts to a thread or if you get a PM. In the User Control Panel (User CP), go to Edit Options and you will see the options to Subscribe to Threads and get email whenyou get a PM.
You can mention the forum on the Yahoo groups if you want, but be warned that it usually gets a frosty reception and I have heard of at least one guy that got banned from the lists for mentioning the forum, so proceed with caution!
And on the Navigation Bar, there is a button that says Donate if you wish to toss some change to the board. :D

ok thx. is there no way to find out when a new post is posted as soon as it is posted. on "another" forum every time someone posts im notified thru mail. is that possible here?
as far as notifying other people on yahoo if i get kiked i guess it wasnt meant to be LOL. i get along with most over there but it cant get a bit "heated" at times. LOL

Seems like the forum isn't sending out email at the moment, but i'm not sure. Let me do some tests.

I am not interested in paying to be a member. I have learned ALOT from forums that were free. A great forums like this one here has the potential to grow to be a huge community full of valuable information, all for free, I hope!!

I agree in that I wouldn't pay to be a member of any forum.
The VMOA membership has saved me many times over the $25 cost of membership in vendor discounts alone.

Not to mention it has provided a pretty good avenue to meeting other Vmaxxers in my area that I would never have met and had the opportunity to do rides with otherwise.

Not very many maxes around and kinda tough to find other Vmaxxers otherwise.

Going to a forum format was just a good development for the organization as far as bringing it into the modern day world.

Yeah I think it's a shame they are putting restrictions on the new VMOA Forum like having to be a VMOA member. Makes us look like a snooty group. I personnally don't mind paying a membership fee, because there are some perks to it like the discounts and VBoost. But I guess, in a way it sorta helps keep out the riff raft that wanna go in there and spam porn and dating sites. I wish the VMOA officers would have just adopted this forum into the new VMOA site. That would be sweet!
And I hope this forum won't get too big, like the the full size chevy forum I'm in. That forum is a monster, there's like 500 posts a day, I can't keep up with it most of the time.
I like this forum a lot. Good people and not so huge you can't find what your looking for or keep up with what everyone is talking about.

Glad to hear the emails are working again. Right now there is a weekly Tuesday chat at 10 pm EST, but no one has showed up the last 2 weeks. I might schedule an earlier one, say 8 pm, on another night.
