I know there are some people here trying to do a sequential injection based on flywheel signal, and it's proving difficult. On the other hand I've found some info on batch injection retro fit with carbs to tbi conversion plus megasquirt 3, which seems easier, cheaper and simplier all day long.
Here is what I've gathered, what do you think?

Efficieny of this mod is very poor, floating cylinders may also couse the engine failure. They had also problems with loosing sync...they all had.

The only way to do this right is full sequential - no cheap and easy EFI for the v-max.

This style of fuel injection is dramatically hindered and turned variable depending on altitude isn't it?

For a round the house bike it's probably lovely but how's it do when you climb 4000-5000ft?

(not pissin in your Cheerios, I am actually curious about this)

i have always dreamt of an injected vmax and batch injection approach seems much easier and therefore obtainable compared to fully sequential method.
i've gone through those articles mentioned above, and also watched videos on yt, and to be honest it really seems feasible to make such an install.

pros and cons are moderate, the biggie being cylinder wash at idle... but it has worked without a problem on various cars for many years, so...
i guess i'm gonna have to try that out one day just to see for myself, but it ain't gonna happen just now, got an engine to build first, LOL :D

MAF sensors usually allow the ECM to do a very good job at correcting fuel.

In other words, a system with a MAF is able to self correct (to modifications, altitude etc.) better than a system running off MAP and no MAF. Altitude encompasses a need for timing (less air = less o2 (and power) = less detonation = more timing can be run without detonation) so a MAF will only help part of the overall problems. Cars that are carbureted and run well at sealevel run noticeably different at a mile high. EFI corrects and effectively masks a lot of this.

There are a lot of fans of MegaSquirt but billion$ in research by the OEMs means retrofits of OEM parts usually puts you further ahead of the community projects like MegaSquirt. To be fair, the last time I looked into M.S. was years ago and I know it's made progress since.

I'm unclear on what the difficulties in using flywheel signal have been. The first link has a guy proud to do CNC in the U.S.A. but doesn't want to add a reluctor wheel or two to go sequential?

After several hours of reading, I've found my favorite thread thus far. :)

Well Sherman put on your thinking cap.(Rocky&Bullwinkel) if your under 35. A lot of us would love to switch to injection, but I think the majority of us have no technical skills to even attempt it.
