..just thought I would share this...I have been getting my spare parts from a 96 donor.. I needed the shift drum/forks (gouge in the drum) and the Middle Trans (bad first wheel/gear).... So I just got all trans parts..

Was going to keep all 96 parts together = but discovered the 96 trans shaft was BENT..!! over 11thou..!!

Bike must have taken a good impact..

I dont know why I decided to check this, but I'm glad I did.. The original 86 shaft is perfect in this aspect..

Also noticed some differences in parts used - hope someone can shed some light on this.. Why they are different/good bad.. and since I have to tear them apart to make 1 good one = which should I use..

Not sure what to advise you. I usually don't mess around with swapping gears and misc over. We have our transmissions undercut which makes them shift more smoothly and positively. Of course it costs more then used parts normally would.
