Anyone have a recommendation for a jack? Have 2005 vmax, and I am looking for a jack to use for maintenance, but the exhaust runs on the bottom. So wondering if I need to remove exhaust to use a jack or is there a specific jack that can be used without damaging the exhaust? Thanks.

I have a jack from Harbor freight. I cut blocks to fit in between the pipes & low enough to be below the pipes front of Eng. & back.

According to Sean the pipes can handle the weight of the bike. I have a HF lift and have had no issues lifting the bike by the pipes.

I'm gonna build a jig this year because of the hindle 4-1 pipe routing. I need something on the left side, so I might as well just get the whole thing in the air for access. Might make oil changes easier, too if I make it high enough.

I use a cheap Harbor Freight bike lift:

The pipes are indeed strong enough. Another option is suspension from the ceiling or engine hoist.

I have a Harbor Freight lift, never had any problems.....and yes, it lifts right on the pipes. Not an issue.

The only problem I had was after I lowered the bike 1.5 inches all the way around. Its tough to get the lift under the bike then.

Build a small ramp then push the bike up and chock the rear wheel so it does not come back down use a wedge for sidestand

The center stand works for me.
If I need to get the front end off the ground I put jack stands under the frame sliders in addition to the center stand.
