Clutch isn't engaging

When I first got my bike I noticed that the clutch lever was a bit loose but was working so didn't think anything of it. Now on my way home on Friday I found that when I pull the lever it is not engaging the clutch at all but I was still able to move up and down the gears. When I came to a stop I couldn't get it in to neutral and in first gear the bike would stall.

I just need some advice on what if anything I can do and if I can fix it myself without having to go to a mechanic.

You may have a leak. Check the clutch master fluid level. Then look for leaks, all the way down to the slave cylinder.

If no leaks are found, then the next thing to try is bleeding the system.

Thanks. I've checked the fluid level and it was low. Topped up and just checking for leaks now.
