I have heard you and others say that the headers are just too restricting no matter what slip-on you have.
I just jumped on a deal for a DJ stage 7 that I couldn't pass on. So as always, I'm impatient, and want to throw the stuff on and start tinkering. Thing is, I only have Supertrapps on there now, and the finances wont allow a full system for a while-- prob till the cold weather sets in.
So how much of a waste of time would it be to install stage 7 anyway, and maybe run open ends?

I wouldn't put stage 7 on until you can afford a good system. You'll be doing half the work all over again because it'll need retuned. Why waste the time? Plus it'll be a bitch to tune with stock headers being so restrictive.
