exhaust popping only when cold w/ choke on

I am assuming its because of the wasted spark system is igniting the extra fuel in the cylinder but I could be wrong.

Anybody else have issues like this.

I just noticed it once it got colder out here.

Only when the bike is cold, and when I have to have the choke on, after its warm it stops.

bike runs great with no driveability issues.

My 95 did this. I partially resolved it by richening the air fuel mixtures....then totally resolved it by doing the "crimp fix". I know this may sound weird so let me explain. I had the hot starting issue and at warm idle, only 13.2 volts to the battery. After the crimp fix, 14.2 to the battery and I noticed the popping was gone. I was so excited about this that I started the bike twice a day for several days....no popping....I'm happy:clapping:.
