first VMax roadtrip suggestions

Hi all,

I'll be heading out this week from NYC to New Orleans, with a stop in Atlanta for the Saints Falcons game (Go Saints)

I'm thinking of stopping somewhere between Roanoke, Va and Charlotte, NC for the first night. Was wondering if anyone has any suggestions of a good stopover place?
