It came in on the afternoon of the 30th. I did the assembly and dealer prep then took my first ride at 5:pm The temp was 16 degrees so I only put on about 4 miles. Today (31st) at a balmy 33 degrees I did about 45 miles.

It is everything that yamaha claims. I found 1st gear a little tall but that may just be due to the extra weight. The bike is very nimble once rolling. Can't wait to get it in the twistys. You can almost make a lane change just by thinking about it. It pulls hard from 3000 rpm and up. Very nice shifting bike. You can click it up through the gears without clutch It is everything that the 1st generation was not. Speed is very deceiving compared to the first generation. You don't feel the acceleration or speed in the seat of your pants as much as the 1st generation.

Good deal, god knows you've been waiting long enough. Enjoy your new ride and watch out for the crazies out there.

CONGRATS

Now that's the way to start a new year!!! :clapping::banana:

Grats on your new '09!:punk: It's very cool that you were able to put it together yourself, not many will be able to claim that.
I would be sooooo frustrated if I bought a '09 about right now, there is no way I could even take outside b/c of all the snow. We will not see pavement again until about march and there is no way I 'd risk dumpimg it or the like. A trip down to rideable temps in a enclosed trailer would be in order for sure.

Well your in Luck...
Rick Rash is heading down to Sarasota Florida next weekend.
He's leaving in the am on Friday the 9th. Get a hold of him and let him know your looking to head south too.
Come on down...
Were going to Thunder By The Bay in Sarasota where it's looking to be in the 70's.
And I can Guarantee no snow or ice to be found, unless it's in a cup.

Congratulations Maxout1200 !!

I know how you felt assembling your bike... I did the same on the 23rd !

Took a little ride and after we put it inside the dealer showroom. They are my bodies so I let them have the bike to show for a few days.
I am only getting the license plate next week so I wouldnt be riding her anyway.

Enjoy and safe ride !!!
Alex
