I bealive you know what you are doing - Im just throwing my 2 cents.

I appreciate the advice. I don't know what I'm doing. I am buying parts and bolting them on. Hopefully it all works.

I did tear the forks down before sending them out for chrome and re-valve. When I had the upper tubes stripped I was considering removing the bushings and installing new ones. When I looked up inside the tubes I could not see any difference in the wall thickness from the first bushing near the fork seal all the way up to the upper bushing which was right at the point that the forks transition to a smaller OD. Then again, it would be hard for me to see a couple mm difference. Then, I realized it would be a total pain to remove the upper bushing and that neither bushing is listed on the OEM microfiche. The shop manual says if the bushings need replaced, you must replace the fork tube. However, I did find that there are a few suspension shops out there that CAN get the bushings and replace them if needed. I didn't bother.

There has been NO progress on the bike for quite some time.

Still waiting on a rear wheel to be fabricated. That was started in February...

WOW Mike, you are out of control over there!!.......

extended swingarm, radials, Busa front end......Awesome.

BUT.......an extra gallon of gas? PRICELESS!!!! :rofl_200::rofl_200:

I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product as well......keep us posted......

Well, I guess I do have a little progress to show. The fork tubes, extensions, and caps are now chromed and the triples anodized and its all mocked up with the fender and head light. Not much but a step in the right direction.

i like it! how much lower does the front 'stand' now. at least on the bench?

Well, I haven't actually measured everything since its been mocked up. I did have a bunch of measurements written down before anything was assembled. This is what I come up with based on paper.

From top of forks to the centerline of the axle the USD setup is about 2.12" shorter than stock, OEM forks.

Adding a front radial will lower it a little more. I figure a 120/70/17 is approximately 2.19" shorter than a OEM 110/90/18. Divide that number in half and add to the previous number

2.12+ 1.09= 3.21" Total drop, including the tire diameter difference.

I will have to confirm this one of these days...

EDIT: On a side note, I saw some pics of the busa front fender and HAD to go a different route. I did not like the "birds beak" at all. Ended up using a front fender from a GSXR 600/750

My rear wheel should be here tomorrow according to UPS :eusa_dance:
Hoping to get some kind of progress done over the Christmas break

Mocked up the rear wheel and brakes. Painted the expanded fuel tank, finally!
