He also used to say, "I love early onset Alzheimer's. I get to meet new friends every day and I can hide my own Easter eggs."That's the problem with late diagnosis Dyslexia.
I didn't realise I had a problem until I went to a Toga party as a goat.........
Just started running and problem is solved. Now just 20 seconds driving and temp drops immediately by 10°COnce you have run it for a while I'd drain it again and if you can be bothered, remove the rad and reverse flush it.
Then its keep flushing.
Assuming the radiator core is now clear it may also be worthwhile running some rad. cleaner through as it will now be able to circulate.
Ice cubes.

And never heats up again
Thank you!
Surely I'll drive for a while and flush empty again, then repeat after a while until only clean coolant flows.
What you suggest as a rad cleaner?
Ice cubes
Use the Prestone radiator flush. What you suggest as a rad cleaner?
I use distilled water in the cooling system, won't contain carbonates such as found in hard water, that clog up radiator cores.
Yes, it costs a bit more but if that is too much, stick buckets outside to collect rainwater, unless you live near desert_max.
I thought they were the same, but no, I looked them up and there is a difference between them. Apparently distilled is purer water than deionised It's an education on here for sure. I've been using distilled water! Although I doubt for the purposes of keeping a cooling system clean the two would give much difference on results.Sorry my mistake, it's deionised water, for our purposes is equivalent.

More than help, thanks!Glad that we were able to help.
There are some recommendations here but as it was some xx years ago when I last used radiator cleaner in my Mk I Escort (It didn't work) it would be an understatement to say I'm out of touch with current products.
I'll try that thenUse the Prestone radiator flush.
The reason I like the Prestone is because it's not overly strong. They make flushes that are a LOT stronger but I've seen some of them attack older metal and wind up eating holes in it.
I'd do what you planed to do: Ride for a while as is and then use the Prestone one good time and refill with good, fresh Prestone anti-freeze and call it a day.
Now I started polishing and making little fixes. First one a constant oil drop from clutch slave I guess
I would imagine now is the time for you to do all your coolant changes, and give away as much as you can..............Since Cumbria is flooded!Or have access to the Max Midnight water butt...available from the usual sources.
Max you're always funny (in the good way!)Oh dear, I know the signs of someone who is at the top of the slippery slope.
There is only one way you will travel downwards towards a craving for al the goodies still available.
Once upon a time I was a multi-billionaire with wealth rivaling Bill Gates.
Thanks to what I've spent on the Max I now survive on an occasional meal of hedge trimmings and live in a shoe box.
Be warned!
Give? GIVE???? Nope, you've lost me there!I would imagine now is the time for you to do all your coolant changes, and give away as much as you can..............Since Cumbria is flooded!
This Prestone is only from US, mote than 1 month to have it here in Italy and shipment ire expensive than product itselfI'll try that then
My water butt collects water of a 3 car length garage with a flat roof covered in chippings. It makes me wonder if chemicals from the chippings dissolve into the rainwater as is flows down it - I suspect not as it would need to be in contact for much longer time plus at the bottom of the butt there is rotting vegetation as leaves get swept inside.Or have access to the Max Midnight water butt...available from the usual sources.
Re. Distilled vs deionised, the latter I expect is cheaper as chemicals or filters are used to "clean it" so won't be as pure as distilled.
