Yikes! Mama Yamaha in cohoots with the Liberal government deficit policy?

This has always been the case, and not just Yamaha, pretty much any manufacturer, auto, recreational, etc...

I have argued with the local dealer here and they say it's because of the exchange rate from Yen to Canadian versus Yen to US is why the difference.

Just bought a rear wheel needle bearing (Part# 93311-32698-00) for $45.00 Cdn and it's $25.85 in the USA.

I usually get a price from Yamaha and than look elsewhere (ebay, etc...) to see if I can get it cheaper.

Not sure how to interpret this but currently the US dollar is $1, the Canadian dollar is $1.31 and the yen is 111.99. Seems like the price Canadian could reasonably be 1/3 higher than US but not almost double!

The dealers explanation was all bullshit.

111.99 Yen - 1 USD

1 USD - $0.765 Cdn dollar

So a bearing selling for $25.85 in the US - should be selling for $33.77 in Canada - so why is it up charged to $45.00 Cdn - because they can, I guess

Yeah! Well... ummm... our BEER has MORE alcohol content! So there! lol

Mike if you ever want to "meet up for lunch" I could always have some spare parts just laying around in my vehicle or saddlebags that you might be interested in...

Thanks Brian and I will that in mind.

We do need to meet up this summer, it's been too long. Looking forward to seeing you and redbone again.
