I have got my carbtune today is there a master carb to adjust the others too?

Do i hook all four hoses up at the same time or do one side at a time? does it matter what hoses go on what carb?

thanks for the info

remove the rubber caps and the hose on #2 and connect all the hoses from the carbtune, start the bike and check levels. set thr sync of all to #2 reading, theres no standard reading whatever #2 says make the other say the same.

When you first start, you will find the reading are jumping all over the place. That is what you restrictor is for. adjust the restrictor until you have the heedles reading steady then start adjusting.

There is no actual adjustment to the restrictor that I know of, just cut the restrictor tube into 4 equal pieces. I could be wrong because my carbtune is about 15 yrs old. Someone correct me if I am wrong........

You are correct. The restricters for the carb tune are small pieces of small clear hose.

Noticed that it was posted there are no reading to go by, just as long as everything sync's to carb #2....BUT, the service manual under maintenance specifications says 200 mm vaccum at idle, where as in chaper 2 (2-13) under carb sync is says 170mm...and of course my bike is around the 160is area...WTH....I hate carbs..:bang head:

Any advice...for the recored, my bike is running great now....I'm scared to touch it again cause the slightest adjustment and she goes nuts. (and I have a carb sync tool)...guess tool only works as good as the operator.

Didn't you just list your own advice? If it ain't broke, by all means, don't try to fix anything.

You can raise or lower #2 carb vacum with main idle thumb screw, but you are good to go with what you have now...........

I've never knew the 200 or 170mm reading before and just balanced the carbs using a Carbtune. I will have to pay closer attention to see where my carbs are at.
EDIT: Thanks Joe!

If you're gonna get that fussy BB, don't forget to have your carbtune calibrated by a third party certified instrumentation calibrations specialist before even THINKING about a meaningful sync.....otherwise, how would you know................:ummm:...........ya know?

:rofl_200:

I have had it certified, ratified. testified, immortalized, revitalized, sanctified, rectified, and probably a few other overly -lized words that even the esteemed reverend Jimmy Swaggart hadn't shed a tear over done to my trustifized Carbtune!:biglaugh:
