    Technique for Removing Grips

I just got a set of drag bars that came with new ProGrips. However, I'd prefer to keep the original grips that were on my stock bars. Does anyone know a tip or trick to remove the left hand grip from the stock bars so it can be reused on the new drag bars? Thanks for the help.

I'd like to powdercoat most of the aluminum parts on the front end (fork brace, triples, etc.). I'm wondering how to best remove the clearcoat in order to prep the pieces. Bead blasting is working, but I've got a small compressor and its taking a long time. Also, should I reapply clearcoat...

    Removing Backrest Parts Missing

I am removing the backrest from my 1990 VMax. It is not the OEM Yamaha backrest. When I pull the passenger seat off, it appears parts were removed to install this backrest. Does anyone have a photo of what should be under the passenger seat on a stock bike? I think there must be something to...

Pics of removing baffle on stock exhaust?

While searching I have come across several pics of removing the end plate rivets and drilling holes which seems easy enough, but none of removing the baffle. Removing ac magneto

Hi guys, after trying to solve my problem of voltage dropping with an increase in rpm's, i've been informed that the fault is with the magnet's in the magneto which are cracked causing more poles from within and a cancelling voltage between poles. Question is, where is the magneto? Service...

Installing COPs inc. removing OEM coils pt5

On the left-hand side, I made sure that the COP wiring (arrowed) was in front of the V-boost servo, so it wouldn't get in the way of the V-boost cable or cam movement: the wiring is routed through the opening in the heat shield (arrowed) that the HT lead used to go through: Now the left...

Installing COPs inc. removing OEM coils pt4

Ok so back to fitting the COPs, finally. Here are the front wires prepared - notice that the #4 wire has to be longer to reach down to the right-hand cylinder from the connector on the left which is pretty close to the main harness: Here's #4 connected... ...all taped up... ...and fed...

Installing COPs inc. removing OEM coils pt3

To remove the front coils, the only way to access all four coil mounting screws is to move the bracket that hold the CDI, ignition vacuum advance unit and V-boost servo. Here's a full view of it; the blue arrows shows the #4 coil screws, and the red arrows show the bracket mounting screws (x4)...

Installing COPs inc. removing OEM coils pt2

As I went to do the front COPs, I thought there was no way I would leave the original coils in place - after all the COPs mod is as much about saving weight and space as it is about better performance through less resistance in the coils circuit and better reliability through removing those...
