starter

I have a 92 with a possible bad starter will an 85 2 brush work so I can see if mines bad? I can get it for $20 off eBay but only have 4 hrs left

I'm looking for a used 4 brush starter for my 92 Vmax I went in the classified section but couldn't figure out how to post the ad. Maybe because I'm trying from my iphone. I already tried fleabay and not sure if their 2 or 4 brush. Anyone who has a used one even let me know. Thanks alot, Ed:ummm:

does the ventrue starter fit the vmax? I am after a 4 brush to replace my 2 brush motor

I have an 04 that has developed a nasty grinding noise when I hit the starter button, as if it had worn teeth on the starter gear. I know it's not the battery because I put a 100 amp charger on the battery and it still made the grinding noise. Has anyone else had this problem? Was it the starter?

I removed my starter and tried to test it to see if it was good. I hooked the... negative? ( red) to the power cable connector thing on the starter and grounded out the positive? (black) to the frame, sanded a clean spot, only a little one. The starter never moved on any amperage. So... it's bad?
