    Vboost off for carb tuning?

Hey all. I recently put on an IXIL exhaust like KJ's and now I am running pretty rich. Was going to try and get it dialed in this weekend but had a few questions. After looking at the factorypro website about tuning cv carbs, I was wondering if the vboost makes it harder to choose the main...

    Problem with VBoost (electricity)

Hi Guys, My mechanic just finished replacing my old engine with new one. He never did that before on Vmax and I explained him about the VBoost mechanism. He said it didn't have any special issues with it BUT, now after the new engine installed whenever I reach 6000rpm the bike is turned off...

    Vboost on 85 vmax

This has probably been ask and answered before but I can't find it so here go's. I have an 88 Vmax that I rebuilt the carbs on and now the v-boost is not working. I ran all the test and am fairly sure it is the controller. The factory controller is over $200 and the one from micro something is...

    Why V-Boost?

I'm probably very ignorant in asking this but whatever, if you don't ask you wont learn! So my question is, why have a V-Boost system? Why not have slightly bigger carbs and inlet manifolds? I'd say it would be a lot cheaper to set up and there is more than enough room to install them.

    Any Tips on Mods??

I read something about being able to adjust the VBoost setting. Is this possible and what if anything would it do to the engine wear or fuel economy? Also what are my options for upgrading the exhaust with out having to go through a huge hassle with jetting or air issues?

    VBoost problems

I have a 1993 VMax with a TBoost installation. I have had the bike since 2005. The VBoost has been working perfectly all this time. Even after I installed the TBoost, 4 years ago, everything worked as it should, 3K, 6K, off. The first time I noticed any problem was 2 weeks ago. I went out for a...

    Vboost toggle switch

So I bought a 93 Max and when I asked the guy about the toggle switch on the throttle holder he told me that 93 was the first year to put that toggle switch in. I knew he was telling a story, or as I found out later, was told that. So I figured, by the miles and the guy having the bike for 2...

    Manual VBoost Idea

I am currently running with the VBoost wide open. I have the servo and controller removed and I took a piece of brake line (metal tubing) cut a slit in it with a dremel down the length of the tube, slid the vboost wire in it and let the metal end rest on the outside (hopefully that makes sense)...

    adjusting vboost

Hello, When adjusting the vboost, the control cable, and a set screw are involved. When synchronizing the vboost, a set screw is involved. My question is.... where should the locking bolt be when the control cable is adjusted, towards the back of the engine, middle, or front of the...

    Carb Sync with bypassed Vboost

This is a 1988 model that I purchased used a month or so ago, but just now getting arounnd to working on it. The bike has not been maintained, and about everything on it is original except the tires. I suspected that the Vboost had been bypassed or not working on this bike, but didn't think...

    Understanding VBoost

I read the FAQ and some other threads, but still have a question. The Vboost is a tube with butterflies between the manifolds on each bank that opens at 6,000 rpm. Does the VMax engine normally use 1 carb per engine side(or 2 cylinders), then when VBoost kicks in it opens an additional carb per...

    'VBoost' tach

After reading the thread about the 185 mph speedo for an '85 it brought back a memory I thought I had about the first years. I could have sworn my buddies '85 or '86 had the words 'VBoost' on the tach around the 6000 rpm mark. Am I remembering correctly or did I have a little too much fun in...
