stupid bikes :biglaugh:

Re: 1988 honda hawk gt

I prefer this to the Yamaha SRX600, more roadworthy, modern wheels/tires, single-sided swingarm, a cult bike itself. Better able to ride close to maximum speed, and aesthetically-speaking, also well-done.

A great retrospective:

Very nice bike indeed & I have always liked them to & will have one some day. I just see a lot more of these for sale so as far as collectible I would nab a Yamaha first if I found one reasonable . This bike looks like a great deal some one should nab it quick

Re: 1988 honda hawk gt

Paulibiker still hasn't made an entry on his upper right-hand info to inform us of his location... . How-far would someone have to go to see this bike for-sale?

Re: 1988 honda hawk gt

Throw on a R 1 front end and I'd be happy. Maybe some sticky Shinkos for good measure and start scraping pegs.

i'm not sure a USD front ends on these are really necessary. lighter bikes, the conventional forks are much more suited than for the vmax.

Re: 1988 honda hawk gt

I would assume the improved valving and spring rates
not to mention a touch less rake would be an improvement. Maybe I'm being wistful since I have a GSXR front end languishing in the garage waiting on a purpose in life. Better brakes too by the way.
