Decided to start the Busa brake conversion last night.

Size difference between the too. More disc area, more stopping power!

I stopped at 2:30 am this morning. I put the wheel back on so the bike would be safe. I ll start working again later tonight on it. I have to finish the other side bolts. I can let these plate while I work, and then tonight I ll install them and start on the calipers. Going to do High Gloss black on them. I am going to do Matt's wheels tonight too if I can get them apart. So hopefully tonight I ll have the calipers finished and I can start making the adapter plate tomorrow.

This is probably one of the longer parts of the build. Most everything else has been a few hours max. This will be a few days since I am rebuilding calipers, powder coating, doing the bolts and making brackets. I also have some braided line, but its not for the Vmax, so I am unsure on the length. I also have a Busa read caliper, not sure if thats a bolt on, but its new in box, so I might bolt that on also. I ll check the rear rotor as well.

One thing I will say, is once you start, you have to do everything. Doing the front calipers black, means I have to rebuild the rear caliper and make it black also. I guess it keeps me busy...... If there was money in it, I would build other peoples bikes again. But alas, no money in building things for other people, atleast in the motorcycle world.

I also talked with my buddy about wrapping this fenders and tank cover on this one. Waiting to hear back. I think I am going to keep it red though. But thats not 100% for sure. I was basing the build off the bike being red.

Ok, the laser engraving on the bolts, that is just beyond awesome. That is one of those fine details that makes the difference between your average custom, and something that truely defines customization. OUT-FUCKIN-STANDING!

Got side tracked again....

Valve covers are just needing to be fixed. They need to look factory black and not that ugly gold color.

One of the 4 buffing machines I have setup. Thats the black sisal wheel setup. Thats the machine that will rip a finger off if it catches a part.... I ve been damaged by that thing a few times.

Now to do the front.... I hate the dual color right now. But I have alot of other pressing things going on. Honestly I should have just waited on the valve covers.....

And no.... the brakes arent done lol.

Now you have to take care of this on your bike because its ugly and stands out big time after you did valve cover. You will never be done. I will make sure i call you the night before thunder and remind you to check your license plate.:biglaugh:

I feel your pain...my bike is in perpetual mod mode...but at the end of the day it is gratifying!!

I have to say that having a shop with all those machines would be fun for non work projects. That laser engraving is bad ass. I'm enjoying this build.

Stator cover installed.

I outgassed the part prior to powder coating and it actually bubbled? Not sure how that happened. But just another case of poor pot metal cast china metal junk.

Every time I get on the forum im looking at your thread to see what you've done. You definitely got your creative juices flowing. Pretty cool ideas you have there & hoping your gonna do a small production run on some of your creations. Im liking what your doing & looking forward whats next, so keep them juices flowing......:punk:

Thanks!

This is only a stress relieving hobby for me. So hence the reason you don't see a full time production of parts for sale. But I ll have somethings at Thunder with me.
