Let me guess.. Did U have to flip the polarity of the new pick-up unit?
 
Nope, just a bad battery.

Flooded-cell batteries don't survive Texas summers very well. It was dry as a bone when I pulled it out to replace it. I might be able to resurrect it by refilling it, but it's probably not worth it.
 
Turns out, I should have checked the starter clutch bolts while I had the blasted thing open >:-(

You won't find a Better Battery for anywhere near the price of these.
I've had mine in my Max for over 6 years now without any problems.
