Started both Maxxes after both sitting for about 7 months . Thank you non-ethanol 90 octane marina gas. Ordered some stage 7 jets and a manifold with new rubbers ( did I just say that :rofl_200: ) from Sean for a " project " VMax currently in the works . Since I'm no longer going back and forth to the hospital and doctors office almost every day , I'm gonna finish some projects I have been collecting parts for. (2 Vmaxxes and a '56 Corvette )

Finally got my new set of Shinkos spooned on yesterday.

Also finished installing my home-brewed 6-pot conversion. Then took a nice 10 minute shake-down ride with zero issues.

Purchased a 12 Led light to go in the reflector at the back of the seat. It's 6" x 1.8" and only
5/8" thick. It will cover most of the plate where the reflcetor is. Has a chrome base also.
I've had a number of different light systems there---- hopefully this one will be the best.

Nothing again. Currently Riding my Bosses bike with kerker 4 to 1's and carbs that are way too rich.

$75 exchanged though I can sell you the reflector if you don't have one to trade back in. This would be the painted version. We make them to order so they take some time to prepare.

Put a back rest on the max I couldn't afford $400 for a yamaha one so I made one it's a pad I found in the garage off an old vetter trunk. Kinda wide but the other half loves it.

Kinda wide and nice fabrication but I am confident its not going to hold in any real hard bump scenario (giving a false sense of support). I do like the overall effort though.

Why do you say that ? It's 1/4" thick 6061 aluminum held to the grab rail by 3 grade 5 bolts.

Without any bracing to prevent flex, the aluminum plate used (even 1/4" thick) could be bent easily, especially if any undue stress is applied. Also, the three grade five bolts, they look to be 1/4", or may be 5/16" shank thickness. That would make it so they, themselves could be more easily stressed if said undue forces were applied.

An upgrade to grade 8 bolts and bracing on the fabricated bracket may not even be enough, in my opinion.

You may have had the desire to save money, but is saving money worth taking chances with a passenger? There are options that cost less.
Go here, and take a look. http://www.cycle-istic.com/VMax-rack-backrest/
I have the exact same setup, and it is pretty solid.
