August 2011
I met a navy buddy in Revelstoke, BC for a few days of riding. I rode from Spruce Grove, AB and he came from Vancouver, BC and we used Revelstoke as our home base.
We rode East the 1st day to Kaslo and that ride can only be descrided as "EPIC" Fresh pavement, no traffic, blue skies and a winding mountain road. We opened up the throttles and flew! Had a rest stop in Kaslo and rode back the same way as we came just to enjoy the ride again!
2nd day was a little less enjoyable as we were sore and a little foggy headed from the night before. A nice ride North though, just a little more legal and sedate.
Day 3 was just about short rides to various local attractions.
The ride home was less about the ride and more about making distance. The weather was overcast and scattered showers so the ride was not so much fun. With the weather what it was and so many kms on the bike I was extremely sore from sitting so it was nice to get home.
Overall, a fantastic experience and worth every sore spot.
