BTW, the Vmax sounds awesome. It's hard to keep them synced, but when they are, the bike is and sounds healthy.

Definitely at the very least, make sure you don't have a tear in the diaphragm. They are very thin and easily cracked. Also assure you have lubed the spring and resistant springs so they can adjust freely. With corrosion or road grime they can easily add to the friction and sync ability is out...
I've never had those on my 09 as if yet. But I am very impressed with the Shinkos. Made the bike feel like a different model and not a Vmax. Crazy quick and smooth to cruise too.
