I had to practice using the Kaoko as the first stoplight I came I forgot to loosen it to allow throttle to close-slightly anxiety producing- so practice before getting in to traffic please and good luck!
There will never be electronic cruise control for the Vmax 1700 as it is not totally ride by wire. I have friction handle bar mounted cruise controls that are not Kaoko and they work great on my Suzuki GSX-S1000 and Honda VTX1300. I would not ride without them. I will say if you are not...
I use a deer whistle or similar available at Aerostich Revzilla and others. It is wind powered and must work-in 53 years of riding I have only had to brake or swerve to miss a deer less than five times. I rarely ride at night in the country in extremely dark conditions.
You are not required to use the cruise control just because it is installed- like the horn you use it when needed or you want to. Not installing or installing who cares?
I have hit raccoons possums and I couldn’t make out what several others were at normal highway speeds when there was just no way to avoid them. Each time I thought there would be a severe shock or damage and nothing was felt at the handlebars and little to no debris was found. Lucky not to have...
I have 5500 miles on my 2020 Vmax. All of my riding occurs out in the country in the many farms and farm roads (paved only). In Florida there are about 2-3 turns in Florida. The rest is totally straight roads on and on. While this allows lots of high speed riding I would prefer tail of the...
Installed Kaoko friction cruise control from Revzilla. Saves my hand and wrist from constant twist-works well after some practice. Does require you get used to it before using in traffic and stop situations.
My 2020 Vmax will peg the coolant meter if I am stopped in hot weather here in Florida. I have to get moving and then it will return to center position. Would the Guru Gear ecu reflash be able to open the thermostat at a lower temperature and also start fans sooner? The heat is noticeable-not as...
Does anyone experience the coolant meter getting pegged when sitting stopped for a long time in hot weather? Would the ecu have to be reflashed to lower the temperature that the thermostat opens and to turn fans on sooner also? Thanks for your help folks
