    Fuel system electrical issues.

I checked out the power supply from the fuel pump relay to the fuel pump, with a fully charged battery, My test meter was showing 12.6 volts going into the fuel pump, for about 5 seconds then nothing. This seems to be correct, having tested with both the fuel switch on the main tank and also...

    Fuel system electrical issues.

Hi all, I've not been on here for a good while as unfortunately I've had health issues. However, I fitted a new battery to my 92 first gen, carefully making sure that all was correctly reconnected. Went out for a test ride, around my usual test route (about 20 miles) and all seemed just fine...

Gas quality and undesirable effects of ethanol fuel blends on a 1st gen VMAX

US gas pumps push exactly 7%ethanol since the begining of ethanol nobody ever had to replace fuel lines behind this, "NEVER HEArD OF IT". 🐹😍 Hi, the gas here in spain is either E5 98octane(US 93/94 equivalent) or E10 95octane(US 91 equivalent). It isn't just the ethanol that is the problem...

    CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMITY

Hi as (as far as I know), my 1992 VMAX was originally registered in spain (although this is unclear). Presumably this would be a restricted Euro version, with 74KW (99hp). However I'm going to check out all of the type numbers on the bike and the registration papers, just to establish exactly...

Gas quality and undesirable effects of ethanol fuel blends on a 1st gen VMAX

Thank you for this info, I'll look out for it. Also have now found that star Tron is also available here in spain, so things are looking up! However, that said, I'l still stick to using Euro 98 gas (USA93/94) mainly as it has 5% ethanol and not 10% that the regular euro 95 gas (USA 91/92)...

Gas quality and undesirable effects of ethanol fuel blends on a 1st gen VMAX

Hi guys, I have a 1992 1st gen Europen spec bike, that at least when it was made was designed to run on regular grade gasoline. The problem here in spain (and all over Europe) is the increased amount of ethanol that is mandated to be added to the gas. Regular grade gas here is 95 but this is...

    How many Vmax'es are there?

Hi I have a '92 but it is a European spec bike(registered in spain), restricted to under 100bhp thanks to restrictive horsepower regs in Germany (so I'm told). I haven't really checked this out but I don't think my bike has the Vboost at all. I'm OK with that though as for me just under 100bhp...

    Steering Head Bearing

When I rode my 1st gen home after buying it I was horrified to find that unless both hands were firmly on the bars, a massive wobble set in. Initially I was very unhappy and thought that I'd bought a lemon, but after careful thought, I stripped down the head bearing area, and relubed everything...

    Steering Head Bearing

Great idea, most of my old Triumphs had this, all you needed to do was fill up the grease gun and pump in the grease until it visibly comes out the top and bottom bearings. I was thinking about doing this to my 1st gen when I need to rebuild the steering head area/bearings etc. The swingarms on...
