Thanks anyway. It's an 85. I lose the signal to the rev counter and the bike stumbles at certain revs. I think it's the grey wire. The one on the rev counter/ fuel pump relay / cdi circuit.

Hi, I've had a problem lately where my bike holds back at a certain revs. The rev counter also cuts out. Do you know what it is? I think it's an ignition problem. Could it be the ignition advance unit?

I fitted a complete stock exhaust to my vmax a few weeks ago.... always wondered what them 2 bolts were for 😆 Thanks.

I have an 85 American import with Canadian stock needles... what notch is factory?

The mount is in 2 halfs... the top half is normally left on the frame when they change the exhaust. It's held on with 2 10mm bolts. The bottom is the bit thats normally lost. It's a damper, washer and m10x 45 x 1.25 bolt.

Nothing surprises me on this bike... turns out I've got a left front caliper on the rear 😆

These are the pads I use. Ive also use EBC 252's Thanks. At least I've got something to go on now if I need new seals 👍

That's ok 😄 At least it works when I'm low on petrol. When I first got the bike the light didn't work at all. It's not fun pushing a 44 stone bike to a garage when you run out of petrol 😄

Could this be the reason I've never had a fuel test light? It comes on when I go to reserve, but never works with the oil light when I hit the starter.

I go to a yamaha parts site, copy the part number and put it in on eBay... you'll often find them there 👍

I bought one about a year ago. Never had a problem with it. I put the led on the left frame panel and set the controller to 5500 rpm. Any lower and it keeps kicking in when I change down... I ride quite hard 😄
