My gen2 started dying when coasting with the clutch pulled...

The TPS sensor is one of the modules you can test in the ECU diagnostic mode. Here is what it says should be the readings: D:13 Throttle position sensor Meter signal 2 Display • Fully closed position | 15–16 | Check with...

My gen2 started dying when coasting with the clutch pulled...

It is a 2011. When I pull in the clutch, normally, the rpms drop to 1000-ish. When I noticed it is about to die (like in the video), the rpms drop to 500-ish. That seems to be a reoccurring theme... It is like something has caused the idle rpms to drop to 500-ish. I can sometimes induce the...

My gen2 started dying when coasting with the clutch pulled...

Got it to die multiple times, but unfortunately it did not have a fault code stored in memory when I returned home. :( I got it to die once by pulling the clutch, then popping the clutch, then pulling it again and let it engine brake...it always seems like if the rpms drop to around 500, then...

My gen2 started dying when coasting with the clutch pulled...

After putting it in diagnostic mode, it showed a Fault Code of 12... Crankshaft Position Sensor. I can't be sure that code wasn't already there, since it keeps them in memory until they are deleted. I will delete it from the memory and try and get the issue to happen again, then check if the...

My gen2 started dying when coasting with the clutch pulled...

Here is a video of the issue: What you don't see is when it manifests itself over the course of the ride. The 1st instance was about 4 mins in, then it didn't happen again until about 15mins...after I had been in traffic and lots of pulls on the clutch. Then it did it two times in 30...

My gen2 started dying when coasting with the clutch pulled...

No, I mean I was coming to a stop light, pulled the clutch in and it died right before I stopped. I didn't have enough forward momentum to pop the clutch and it restart. So at the light, I had to turn the key off and on again in order to be able to start it. This is what it says in the manual...

My gen2 started dying when coasting with the clutch pulled...

I did reply to that question. Since then I read in the manual that they are displayed in the upper left corner and I have been keeping an eye on it but no codes. I assume it will show any automatically, or do I have to be in another mode on the screen? Rode to work this morning and home and it...

My gen2 started dying when coasting with the clutch pulled...

It is straight up dying, no sputtering. Its like the rpm drop kills the engine. I have to turn the bike off then on to get it to start, unless I have enough forward momentum, then I pop the clutch and it starts up. I keep it in the garage.

My gen2 started dying when coasting with the clutch pulled...

UPDATE!!! Well this is becoming the strangest issue. I went for a ride last night and the bike ran great. No dying when coasting with the clutch pulled in. Decided to ride it to work this morning and about 10 minutes into the ride, it started dying again. I had to rev it at stop lights to...

My gen2 started dying when coasting with the clutch pulled...

Well, this exact issue happened before I did anything clutch related, albeit it only would do it once then that was it, then once again weeks later...not over and over and over in a row. Then when I get home, after having to keep the rpms up at each stoplight or it would die, I needed to use my...

My gen2 started dying when coasting with the clutch pulled...

Thanks for the replies! I haven't been able to ride and see if it is still doing it. I will tonight after work. I got gas before the dyno session, that is why I was thinking it could be that (plus we happened to have a discussion about how bad the gas is at different stations in Houston). I...

My gen2 started dying when coasting with the clutch pulled...

I searched the forum and found others with a similar issue, but it was on gen1 and attributed to the carbs. The issue is the engine dying when I am coasting with the clutch pulled in. In order to start it again with the key, I have to turn the ignition completely off then turn it back on and...

    One for the guitar players

It is actually a right handed guitar with a reverse headstock. He is picking with his right foot and fretting with the left. I was so impressed by his tone, ability to tap and the fact he ripped the solos...well, everything was impressive. Imagine the amount of practicing and ingenuity to...
