    With everything stock other than slip ons wouldnt smaller mains just lean it all rather than the wierd dip at 3000 rpm? Ed

    I'm at a loss, these were the recommended experts, I have paid for a fix but not received it, I cant face the confrontation - nor should I have to. Yes ?180 is fair for a carb clean and dyno but I am still suffering the glitch - no idea where to go now.... I am more than happy to pay for a fix...

    Tried 0.4mm and 0.8mm as well as standard, just richens the mid range a bit. Cant think why the dip only happens there, it seems between the pilot and needle transition but quite severe. Ed

    I called them and they were not too interested, they said not to take much notice of A/F! Im not into confrontation but a bit miffed at "the best in the country" pretty much saying thats it...if they are the best Im lost. Love to hear any ideas when you guys look at the dyno sheet? Ed

    All standard jets / needles, only after market parts are Supertrapps with 8 disks / closed caps. Ed

    Hi, No its not fixed sadly, PDQ said theres nothing wrong with the carbs - standard needles for sure, the bike is a Money pit!! Ed

    Dyno result - Stumble at cruise speed Heres the dyno sheet - all the obvious and more have been looked at including all airbox / carb boots for leaks, PDQ stripped the carbs and cleaned them, I have changed everything bar the coils which are my last hope! The dip in the A/F baffles me but...

    Heres the result of the carb strip / clean and Dyno at PDQ, my problem is stuttering at steady throtlle between 3000 / 5000 rpm - notice the dip in the A/F is right where the issue is. According to PDQ this should not be a problem though.... Ed

    Well after much effort the MAX is now in the capable hands of PDQ Developements, these guys are known to be experts on the Max since the eighties in the UK. Fingers crossed it will be done in a day or two complete with a Dyno sheet. Ed

    Hi, So kind thank you - I have balance gauges, done the shotgun again today very thorough with carb cleaner and compressed air, returned needles to stock and A/F to 3 turns to get a "baseline". Sadly one thing I noticed was the holes that the needles go in (emulsion??) are slightly oval!!! Ed

    They are the diameter of the double skin OEM all the way to the last 2" where they narrow to accept standard fit silencers or slip ons but they are single skin to much larger internally until the ends...

    Thanks - one thing I noticed doing the shotgun, 3 out of 4 carbs ejected some fuel from the needle jet hole, one didnt but air blew through all... I have tried no shims and its worse, idle is fine, up to 3000rpm is fine, above 5000rpm is fine. under load is fine - problem is only at steady...

    Thanks - more experimenting Today - put 6 disks / closed cap on the supertrapps and tried 2.5 / 3 / 3.5 & 4 turns out on the A/F screws - still stumbling but when you go out on the screws low RPM pulls a bit harder under load. Tomorrow I will shim the needles and try various A/F settings and...
