What is the Best Mod Ever on a Vmax?

Best Vmax mod I ever did was jacking up the Gen 1 radiator cap and riding a Gen 2 under it and reinstalling. :biglaugh:

    Does anyone make a seat/backrest for driver,gen2 ??

    I've never seen a driver's backrest for a Gen 2, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

1st Annual Vmax Rally In the Valley Maggie Valley NC

This will be a great time!! I'll be rolling in around Aug 27-28, and staying until Labor day Monday. These are some of the best roads you guys will ever see, and if Kyle does the smoker thing, some of the best BBQ you will ever taste :eusa_dance: I'm looking forward to it, and may have room...

popping through the left side exhaust???

These bikes get RICHER not leaner when you open up the exhaust. Check for leaks at the joints.

    Yamaha accessories wrong again

I may be able to help you out- I have I believe 2 left side rails for Gen 2 backrest that I bought on Ebay for just this occasion- I will check them out tomorrow to make sure. Maybe I can trade a left side for a right?

    Cortech Saddlebags

I have a set the PO used on a Gen 2, but have yet to use them, so no help here. Mine do have a neoprene inside coating where if they touch the rear fender they wont tear up the paint, at least I hope.

need some help.. Tried to sync carbs and messed up

Just to clarify, when you are talking about the idle"screw" you are referring to the thumbwheel underneath the carbs, correct? More than one owner has mistaken the synch screw on the left for the idle adjustment....

    Suspension adjustments

Another thing to keep in mind, and the reason I am not going to lower mine, is when you lower it 2" or so, you start dragging expensive hard parts like the oil pan in the twistys. I found that out AFTER I bought the lowering link, so I plan to have Rich cut down my seat instead.

    Suspension adjustments

I also have a UFO 2" lowering link I'm not going to use- And Rich (Maxgasser) is offering a cut down seat for Gen 2's now as an option. I think Sean Morely is also doing a custom cut down version of the seat.

    2015 VMAX purchase!

If you are asking how much support the factory low backrest has, it's pretty much none, just a bump stop- I put one of those extenders from Ebay on mine, now the wife can lean back and feel safe lol.

    Gen 2 weight

Oh yeah, it'll blur things in a big hurry, I call it 0-handcuffs in 5 seconds flat :biglaugh:

    Gen 2 weight

Yep :biglaugh:! Wait till its broken in, then get it up to about 3K in 1st, and peg the throttle- It'll feel like the clutch slipping, but its just the 200 tire lighting up, and if you bang 2nd at redline, it'll do the same thing all the way through 2nd gear. It's fun, but tough on tires :rofl_200:

    Handlebar vibrations in Gen II?

The picture doesn't show up, but if that's a OEM backrest, then yes my luggage rack is compatible, but its black, not silver.

    Handlebar vibrations in Gen II?

BTW- I dont know if you plan on putting a factory backrest on that, but if you do, I have a spare black OEM luggage rack in the package never used I'd let go cheap.

    2015 VMAX purchase!

When the light starts blinkin, you better be lookin hard for fuel...best ive ever gotten was 34-35 on the highway at 75-80mph. Around town, and going to work, I average right at 30 and my bike just hit 10k last weekend.

    Handlebar vibrations in Gen II?

They might, but I believe the bar ends on the new max use an insert that stays in the bar when you remove the ends? Someone else can confirm this, as I have never removed mine, but I know its been an issue with replacement bar end mirrors...
