    delkevic slipons

Hey Boyd, I just ordered the 13" carbon fiber tri ovals, I hope they look as good as your SS ovals! Quick question, though: Did you change the muffler gaskets too? If so, it is part #44 here, correct? http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/oemparts/a/yam/50044307f8700209bc78ee61/exhaust...

    Painted my engine, idle problem

Thanks for the advice guys, Yeah I have fuel :rofl_200: I'll check the fuel filter, though. I've been meaning to shotgun my carbs, should get around to that. Stupid lazy bastard, I am. I covered the sidestand switch pretty well, I don't think I disturbed it. I have noticed it's a...

No problem! And yeah, they look great. If you get them, let me know how they work out.

    Painted my engine, idle problem

So, I painted my Max's engine yesterday with Duplicolor ceramic engine enamel, looks great. I'll post pics later, but now I have a problem :confused2: I took her out for a spin today, and everything seemed dandy until suddenly at a stoplight she just died while idling. Luckily, she started...

    Chopping up my Max

Yup definite handling upgrade! Depending on how low you have the bars, the horn / start control boxes might just barely hit the dummy tank cover, so they don't affect turning radius too much. If I adjust my bars up just 15 degrees or so the controls miss the tank entirely. Here's a bad...

No, you're right. Most people have a bar end mirror on their left bar for a cleaner look. But it's also illegal to go over the speed limit :whistlin:

    Chopping up my Max

No worries :biglaugh: The bars aren't quite as low as a sportbike, if you look at a sportbike: http://imageshand.yamahamotors.com/img.jpg?id=14483&class=lrg The bars are pretty much the same height as the seat, whereas with the clubmans on the Max the controls are a good 8-10 inches...

    Chopping up my Max

Got anything for cheap? :biglaugh: I would want a right intake cover too if the price is right, but again, I'm saving up for a new max so I'm not looking to spend too much on the one I have now.

    Chopping up my Max

I find them pretty damned comfortable, but I'm 5'10" so YMMV. http://www.lossaengineering.com/shop/lossa-brand-black-cafe-bars/

Thanks! I get the feeling most maxxers disapprove of my removing all the covers :biglaugh:

    Chopping up my Max

I'm planning on buying a low mileage 'max soon so I can take this one apart and use her for parts (and hopefully learn a thing or two). So I'll probably need new brake lines then, because I love these handlebars (they're clubmans :thumbs up:). I do want a new muffler though, you got a spare...

    Chopping up my Max

Thanks for the responses guys. I figured removing the muffler would affect performance. Guess it stays on until I order a new one. How would I get in contact with Kyle / Sean to see if they have an extra used one?

    Chopping up my Max

Salutations, I've been lurking for a while now, first post! My 2000 Vmax is my first bike, and I laid her down once (I learned the hard way that she doesn't like to corner), scratching her right intake cover and exhaust, breaking off the right turn signal, and basically fucking up her...
