I watched sean's video 4 times on how to put everything back together but i have a question.... Which smaller springs do i use? Do cut 1.25 off of the pvc and throw away the metal tube...

Just had to let the group know about a spectacular ride today. From Phoenix up to Bartlett Lake. Fabulous back roads with curves, hills and straightaways. Cool air, bike running fine - and handling perfectly. New seat from Sean, frame braces - nary a shimmy. Rode pretty hard. I had no...

    Valve spring compressor

Can anyone recommend a good choice for a valve spring compressor? I checked all of the local auto parts stores, and none of the choices look like they would fit the recessed spring design.

    Progressive fork spring question

Ready to install my new springs. I've read on this forum where people say that the proper oil level is 4.8 from the top. When I read the enclosed Progressive instructions they advise the maximum oil level is 5.5 inches. What gives. Both measurements were given with the fork fully collasped.

    Progressive spring?

As I'm doing my head bearings I decided to check my forks and refresh fork oil - got some 15 weight Bel Ray. Here are the collars and springs that came out of my forks. PO said the bike had Progressive suspension front and back, so I thought I'd ask the experts here. They do look beefier than...

    Oil Filter Spring

So, I'm changing the oil and notice there is no spring or washer. Does this mean the filter was being by-passed the entire time? Also, I can't get the by-pass valve assy out of the cover. Is it really necessary to replace that o-ring?

    Progressive spring length

Just bought a set of used Progressive springs on E-bay. Cleaned 'em up nice & shiney & popped my old springs out. That's when I noticed the difference in size - the "new" progressives are the same diameter as the factory springs , but are only 15 inches long, whereas the factory springs are much...

    oil filter spring...

Ok, a noob question for sure, but the last bike I had with a cartridge type oil filter was an 83 Maxim XJ750--I found a spring in the used oil I just drained, and vaguely remember the Maxim having a spring to push the filter cartridge away from the engine block so the filter would cover the...

:ummm: Can anyone give me a ballpark spacer length to start with when using the progressive lowering kit and emmulators? I tried what one person posted and the spacer stuck out of the tube about 3" and couldn't even push it down to get the fork cap started. Seems a bit much to me. Thanks...
