Folks who have installed the Napa thermostat--

Did you replace all the O-rings or just carry on with what's there? Didn't want to wait an extra week to put the bike together, but don't want to go back and do it over again if it's likely to leak, either....

Thanks!

I used a Stant # 13758 180F with original o-rings about 1 year ago with no probs. A new o-ring certainly should be better, but in 26 years of wrenching I've reused hundreds of o-rings with no issues. Odds are your used rings should be fine IMHO.

OK, thanks for the info, the clymers always makes it sound like every o-ring is critical to replace, I'm leaning toward going ahead with the install while it's apart for the valves. It's taking me a very long time to do this job the first time, though, I sure want to get it back together soon....

Coffee, Slide the o-ring through your fingers and make sure there isn't any cracks or pinch marks, and that it's nice and flexible. If it is a little larger than the groove when you reinstall just put it in the freezer for a little while, or on ice it'll shrink back to size.

Also use vaseline on o-rings when placing them back in. This assists it to seat properly

Ice does miracles to things ;-"

Vasoline and Ice....

Got it! :punk:

Damn that sounds kinky.

As always, thanks for filling in my areas of inexperience for me.
