I think that the original seat design was pig ugly. That middle piece looks stupid.

I'm going to use this thread as a record of doing a modded seat.

First thing is to check if my idea will work. :biglaugh:

Still thinking and researching. The main reason to do it is to change the shape of the rear seat, so I'm trying to decide what is best for me and what I want to achieve.
I'm leaning towards casting a new seat cushion, but I haven't done the homework yet. :ummm:

Are you planning to allow more hinging angle to facilitate filling, or extend the filler neck/gascap to the rear? Either way, a one-piece seat is a great idea!

Miles, maybe just bigger springs, for the weight. There's just enough room to fill her up like that.

I agree the middle part is ugly...
Over racing is doing some nice one piece seat but it would be a pain to refill gas.
