Looking to get a newer VMax in the near future. Doing my research on them now. Been riding for nearly 34 years now. Did club racing on Yamaha R6's and R1's. Have a Yamaha Warrior in the garage now. Looking to trick out a Newer VMax one day and have fun with all that power.
I found someone here who used clip-ons on their bike. These pics were found on the site and they say 2013. I guess they can be done without cutting the air intakes!
His rendition is quite interesting and beautiful but I do like the clip-ons style look from Roland Sands more (Picture above).
To do this, and be able to turn, the air induction large "Wings" on the side have to be cut down much smaller.
Trying to search the forum here to see if anyone has done it. I see the Roland Sands custom bike has clip-ons and has "reduced size" air intakes on the sides of the tank. He cut them in half to mold around the tank. Curious if anyone here has tried it or just him?
