All of the one's on ebay have them for some reason. Not sure why either. Just bought another oil pan from eBay though so i'll have one on hand to look at.
Also in my eBaying for a replacement I've noticed that most of the pan have a drain plug with a Philips head screw in the middle. My current pan just has a bolt.
Not sure if this is the right section but I have a crack in my oil pan so I'm in need of a replacement. Anyone have one or can tell me what years are interchangeable with my 2001?
Do you push in and turn counter clockwise pass off or clockwise pass run? What your saying does make sense as it would almost be like an accessor setting.
So this might be a dumb question but I just notices a P on my ignition switch and was wondering what it's for/denotes. I haven't been able to get my key to go over to the P no matter which way I have the handle bars or if I push down on the key. I'm hoping that its some extra security in case...
Thats what I figured but just wanted to see what others where doing.
I had to switch over to reserve fuel today and it brought back the popping. So I'm going with I just need to keep riding and work this old gas out. :)
So I rode the Max quite a bit today and the popping has almost completely gone away now that I've put about half a tank of gas (with some Lucas fuel treatment in it) through it. At least I have the tools in I ever do need to take the covers off.
One more question if you all don't mind...
So maybe this would fall under the dumb question category but what are you guys doing to get the screws out of these carbs? I started to try and take on off and it started to twist the head on the screw. Anything I'm missing here or is it just soft screws/different metals seized together?
Hello guys! Been lurking on the forum for a little while while I get my Dad's Vmax back up and running so I figured I would actuarially post something.
I passed my motorcycle safety course about a month ago and got the VMax back running last sunday and have been riding it everyday since...
