    the moment after i crashed and realized that i was ok, i was so happy that i laughed about the damage. a trip to the hospital probably costs more than the whole bike. besides call me cheap but i have more scars than tattoos.

    do they inside or outside of the middle gear cover? the engine is back together and in the frame. are you saying i have to remove the engine and split the cases to install the shims?

    excellent work and i've been able to mate everything to its proper place. my last question is that i have two shims left over but i am not sure where they go to. here's a pic. they are 4.5 mm across, .4mm thick, 75mm ID and 83.5mm OD. any suggestions?

    sean, i used a new o-ring when installing the oil seal and it's still leaking an unacceptable amount. argh. i'll double check the torque on all the crankcase bolts. im going to try taking maxmidnight's suggestion about using hylamar between the pushrod and seal to see if that helps.
