After closely studying the video, I see that the provided parts to plug the carb diaphrams and airbox joints are simple 3-D printed pieces.
You can see the ridges where the 3-D printer laid each layer of molten plastic.
This is the most basic 3-D printer you can get. These printers most commonly...
Its from some overseas company (Brazil, I think) called Easy Rider and apparently its a bolt-on fuel injection kit that pumps air-fuel right down the air box intakes through the carb bodies.
The mixture is supposedly controlled via bluetooth thru an app on your android phone.
Here's the...
I had something similar happen with my 2001 gen1.
The bike bucked like a bronco when I put into 1st from neutral.
I cleaned and rebuilt the push lever comp (#1FK-16381-11 ) with the K&L kit (32-0128)
Of course did a complete drain and bleed of the fluid as well.
Don't have a problem any more.
I'd just like to add from personal experience that with the Exactrep backrest installed on my gen 1, I could not get a Corbin seat (with the removeable gas fill section) to properly install. The extra bracket needed to install the backrest prevent the rear of the corbin seat from fitting down...
Another vote on the Clymer after using both.
I'm currently setting up an old, rough 2001 gen1 and the Clymer is much more helpful to a novice then the Haynes.
Thanks for the pics.
After comparing the pics with my own, it definitely looks like I'm missing 2 of the long stainless bolts and spacers.
I'll have to scrounge around for some.
Thanks.
Do I remove the bolts holding the lower sub-frame?
Or replace the bolts holding my crash guards?
Btw does the install hardware look right?
I thought there would be 4 of those long stainless bolts.
I just got a pair of frame braces for my gen 1 2001 V-Max.
They were cheap because of the caveat that the seller didn't know anything about them, and wasn't sure if even the installation hardware set was complete.
They look a lot like the frame braces once sold by a Japanese parts website called...
OK, tried rotating the rear wheel in gear.
The good news, the bike shifted up all thru to 5th gear.
The bad news , I couldn't shift back down to 3rd.
So rotated the wheel some more.
Again the bike shifted up fine, and then even down to 1st.
But had a heck of a time finding neutral.
At least it...
Hello everybody, new member here posting his first question.
I hope you all can give me the benefit of your knowledge and experience.
I have a 2001 Vmax 1200 on its center stand and drained of fluids.
The previous owner had the carbs professionally cleaned and adjusted but everything else is...
