    do you mean the panel filter ala morleys jet kit or the faux tank that fits on top.as i talking about the faux tank on top.i had it off because it was being painted once i put it on all problems dissapeared.

    ok its fixed raising the stock needle .0020" was the charm runs sweet through all throttle openings no stumble no bog noth'n.I'll have to get on a dyno to see exactly where its at but the trouble that dogged it appears fixed. final setup for anyone interested.drilled slides 162.5 mikuni main...

    no trying to correct you thats why i said i (think) also.but i (think) you would agree that engine will rev throught to red line and beyond in 1st gear at relativly small throttle openings as compared to 5th gear.

    well i went up from 155s because of needle change thought was lean but 162.5s seem worse. so if i go the other way we'll see. problem range about 100 mph 4th gear so cant sustain for too long around here cops everywhere.but will try.whats a good colour .

    could be rich. the off idle stumble was a rich condition and i could of swore it was lean.i just shimmed the needles but did'nt test ride yet wil test tomorrow and if no good ill go leaner mains 152.5 and see cheers

    it was making it worse with stage 1 needles swapped them for stock and now running sweet until top end realy lean.im guessing stock needles are much tamer.anyway put 162.5s mains in and still seems lean wont pull hard past 7500 rpm and pops and farts when your realy leaning on it w.o.t.am i...

    update i just swapped dj stage1 needles for stock units and its much better off idle and mid range. runs out of puff in the top end though leaning out.needs fattening up in the mains.what mains are you fellers running with simular set ups at sea level. cheers

    just by ear screw in till misses turn out till recovers + 1/2 turn .and been fiddlling with them in and out as you do trying to find a happy place. i cant seem to find the sweet spot .which is why i ask about paj2 what effect do'se it in regard to tuning.

    yes and it did improve but it still stumbles when just as you crack to take off slowly.needle is currently second clip from blunt end i might try it at the first clip position leanest setting.what toughts?

    sorry i meant to say raised. moved clip to pointy end and symtoms got worse.i would'nt of thought needle to have as much an effect at just off idle and very small throttle openings.also i forgot to say slides have drilled standard springs.

    oh yeh no a\f meter.will changing paj2 smaller larger correct off idle issues.also any opinions on dj stage 1 needles as i have stock also.cheers
