    Carb sync

Fire, I think the misunderstanding is due to you saying “oil filter cap” when you mean to say “oil filler cap”.

    sputter #1 plug wet

I had the same problem only at a little higher revs, more like where the slides start to open at 3800, one or more were slightly hanging up and it doesn't take much. pull the slides and polish really well with a rubbing compound along the length of the slide. Clean up any remaining compound...

    COPs info

I just got a kit from Gannon and it is very well put together with detailed instructions on removing old coils if you want to. I'll install it soon, I'm glad I went this way on the COPS.

    Jerky

I made some last year with no fat, dried really well, and put into a ziplock bag. A week or so later, small cottony white puffs were growing on them. Tossed the rest. I guess you need to eat soon or freeze, but I always thought they would last a looong time cause they are dried. Any thoughts? Red

    Starter clutch going bad?

On a stock Max, hitting the starter button while the bike is running doesn't engage the starter motor at all. You can use the starter button to temporarily turn off the headlights or flash them off and on by hitting the starter multiple times.

    Kennedy's old job

I've heard more talk about the jobs problems in the last few days than all of last year put together. The job climate has not been a priority and for 10+ percent of the US population, it is huge. Me included, I'm desperate to go back to work and the opportunities are just not there. There is...

    "Dark Side" on the Max?

Anyone have a car brand/size that will fit a stock vmax rim and swingarm (no notch). Are radials available for the rear? You can put any radial on the front to match types, right? Sounds like it could be a reasonable option for non peg scrapers, but I haven't heard much talk of it. Steve

seems like a lot of work to make something uglier???

Is that brace on the swingarm extra low? I'd hate to catch it on something on the road like a speed bump.

    The end is near...

I've got some spare parts I could let you swap, if you want to pay postage. Let me know with a PM, so we can arrange addresses and what you want to try. Sounds like electrical most likely, cause you've been through and around the carbs a lot. Steve

    The end is near...

Well, it's either fuel/vacuum or ignition/elec, could be both I suppose. for the fuel what have eliminated by swapping/ cleaning/inspected/tested and know to be solid: air filter rubber boots/connections between carbs/vboost rubber boots/connections between vboost/engine fuel filter...
