I've just changed the stock air filter to a k and n and ever since I've been getting some odd induction noises from the airbox. One moment it sounds as it always has then it suddenly gets a lot louder for no reason at the same revs, then back to normal. Any ideas.

Thought it was probably something like that. Can't imagine they make that much difference.

Just changed the frame infills for some aftermarket ones and I noticed that the originals have whats called a rubber damper attached to the back ( 43 in pic ) Just wondered what they are for and what might be the consequences of them not being stuck to the back of the aftermarket ones.

Well there's nothing like wasting the good part of a day breaking down the front of the bike to find there's no way in hell aftermarket indicators will fit to the stupid original mounts. Whoever came up with this design at yamaha needs a smack in the chops. I've had many bikes over the last 40...

Had a gen 1 from new for about 7 years. Couldn't wait to get the the gen 2 from the day it first came out and had her for 5 years now.

Cheers. Not 100% sure how you mount the fronts as most aftermarket ones are bolt on and the oem ones look like they just clip into the bracket round the fork leg.

Thinking of changing my indicators to led. Rears look fairly straightforward but fronts look like they could be a real mare to get off and trace the wiring back to the connectors. Any tips.
