I've finally started making progress on my VMax. I took the carbs to a local shop for a full rebuild and stripped down the front end to start fitting the fairing. I also took the air box cover to a local paint store and had some matching paint made for the fairing and hard bags that are going on...

I'm not trying to make functional scoops I'm going to have to notch them in a certain spot to make clearance for the fairing I want to mount. I'm also going to have to notch the fairing to clearance for the radiator. I'll post pictures when I start.

Yes the scoops.they don't have to be in good condition or even the same color. How could I go about buy them from you?

I've tried eBay and a couple other different spots but I'm looking for those covers on the sides for the v boost that just cover up a little bit of electrical on the left and the rad. cap on the right. The engine has already quit smoking. It only smoked really bad for the first few minutes. Thank y'all for all the info. I think my next step is going to be removing and cleaning the carbs. And make sure all the other fluids are changed.

The fuel does have sea foam in it.

I will definitely make sure of that. I've made mistakes in the past on other bikes with frame modifications or other nonreversable things thinking I would ride that bike forever and then running the hell out of it and regretting it later.

I've done nothing beyond the fuel pump. I'd like to take the carbs and clean them and then retune it all.

I finally got the old girl running.The new fuel pump we got in had the inlet and outlet in the wrong orientation and also the wrong mount for under the bracket. So I took them both apart and then put one back together that worked and had the correct mount and inlet and outlet orientation. I also...

The Venture isn't as powerful. I have a Suzuki M109 for longer trips. I just want to build something unique out of an already special machine. I know some of the things I would like to do will most likely piss off the VMax purists and that okay for me. I love the bike and want to make it my own.

Also their are guys running around with luggage racks on top of Bugattis and Lamborghinis. So it can't be that far fetched right? I don't I've always been a fan of the strange or odd so it might just be me.

I know the bike is more of a hot rod than a cruiser but I think it would be bad ass to see this fairing and bags on it. Kind of like the KZ1000 from the first Mad Max movie.
