    Fork question

I'm rebuilding the forks on my '92 V Max, following the manual, and my forks do not have the "Air balancer, Air valve, and the other associated parts that go along with that part of the forks, the holes where the air obviously would enter the forks were welded closed. Is there a reason why...

So after cleaning carbs, new points, coils, air filters, adjusting valves, the right cyl. is backfiring BOTH thru the carb. and out the exhaust! Everything in the carbs...

    Going back to stock airbox

the bike is running fine, I'm just wondering if I will get better gas mileage with the stock air box on, Looking at the air box, there are screws to take off part of the top, I may try that to see what it does, I had some tuning issues a while back, and finally got it dialed in, not sure if I...

    Going back to stock airbox

I' m not a big fan of the K&N's what is an "open top"? I don't want to remove the correctors. I've read the stock airbox will evenly distribute the air flow to the carbs.

    Going back to stock airbox

Finally scored a stock airbox , have the stock main jets 153's and a full Walker Holeshot exhaust with K&N pod air filters. Is there anything I should change or be aware of after I swap over? Thanks

    Idea....

Well I tried it, sounded like my friends XS 400 w/stock pipes! only took one ride to and from work (20 miles) and they were removed! Stoopid, stoopid, stoopid! To hell with the neighbors.
