The servo works fine, I feel the boost but it's coming on around 6400. Do I have to take everything off(airbox & carbs) or can I just take the airbox off and get to the adjustments from there?

Since we're in carb review mode, ever since I bought my 93 around 8 years ago, I notice that even after I've done the carbs, once doing the rebuild kit (o rings and gaskets) I still get a very rich smells @ idle. They sync well enough, with a little flutter, but pretty steady @ 1,000. My buddy...

Thanks Fire-medic & MaxMidnight. What I did was disconnected the fuel pump from the harness, made 2 jump wires to connect the pump to the battery directly and pumped the fuel out from the pump. Pretty simple. Just had to be careful not to spark the jump wires so close to the gas tank. And...

I pulled my coils today after I was getting an inconsistent running sound and thought it maybe electrical. It was! One of my coils is bad. The other 3 have some cracking but they all test good. BTW, the Haynes manual says 2.4-3.0 for the resistence and mine are all around 3.9 Does this sound...

It seems Rhoy was right. 2 of the 4 drain screw o rings were cracked and the other 2 were hard. Had to cut 2 of them off the screws and the other 2 broke right off. Replaced all 4 and they look dry. Haven't ridden it yet. Could those have leaked enough to cut my mileage to the consistent 80...

MaxM, the butcher you sent has a few different fixes. Have you done this? And if so, which one? As I read the thread a few of the guys just put PC680's in and said the problem went a way. I'm thinking a few hours of work and getting to check and clean the starter and connections would be worth...

Had the battery tested today and they said over 200 cranking amps. Is that good enough for the starter? If not I think the next step is to check the starter. Thoughts?

I have a temp tank that I used when I did my XS11 carbs so I'm thinking I'll drain the carbs on the bike, pull the drain screws, check them to see if the o rings are there/good. If they are missing or bad, I'll replace them and see if that's it. If they're good, I'll hook up the temp tank and...
