Turns out the 1300cc was a myth. Sean Morley provided to me this info in this newer thread. http://www.vmaxforum.net/showthread.php?t=9708 I almost bought this bike in July/August. It ran great on the dyno, but the pipes were too loud to be legal here. It was up again on eBay this week for...
SAVED me close to 3 grand! Turns out the Max has the 1200 engine, not the 1300 listed on the DECAL under the cover. I don't think the current owner was trying to pull something, but I think someone pulled something on the original buyer. On top of that, it was running awful and still wouldn't...
Sean, you are always THE MAN when it comes to stuff like this. :clapping:With a few contortions, a toothbrush to clean the casting boss and a bright flashlight, I was actually able to find it on my own bike. It is hard to find and see, but it is viewable. I will take a look at the other bike...

My service manual indicates prefixes of 2WE, 2WF and 2EN for engine serial numbers for the Max for US, CA and Europe respectively. I am looking at a Max that supposedly has a Venture engine, but I need to know the engine serial number prefixes in order to verify.
Hanging a 600 pound bike sideways on one of those platforms that hooks into a receiver hitch is a lot of "tongue weight". Gets tail heavy and waggy. Never mind getting it loaded that far off the ground on a steep ramp with no space to maneuver and a lot less leverage with the bike up at your...
Dealer filled the tank with fresh gas and ran it for a bit. Still not running right. Dealer told owner/consignor it needs a carb cleaning. The owner said he always ran StaBil through it and it ran OK when he rode it this Spring. Shouldn't fuel filter help keep carbs clean? Could there be a...
