Stage 7 loses power at 7000 rpm

No cross over tubes. Edit: Put in 150 mains, stage 7 needles. Problem solved. Pulls hard from 2k to 9.5k with no hesitation.

Stage 7 loses power at 7000 rpm

The vboost is removed. Should I go with 150 mains or a bit smaller?

Stage 7 loses power at 7000 rpm

I haven't checked them yet. Can you check the size without pulling them out? What size should I run? I'm at 700 feet, the paj 2 (I think) is a dj 190, I haven't checked the paj 1 yet.

Stage 7 loses power at 7000 rpm

Just an update. After cleaning the carbs and checking all that I could think of I looked at the needles again. I assumed they were stage 7 needles (p.o. told me it had a stage 7 kit installed). Turns out they are stage 1 needles with stage 7 jets. Needless to say I have been running a little on...

    Best Grip Glue (or Alternative)?

I tried hairspray, but still had a lot of movement. After that I tried shoe goo. That has worked great so far...

How to replace carb slide diaphragm

I tried boiling mine. Worked great on the first 3. 4th one broke.

    Removing the air corrector?

Is it possible to take the stage 7 air corrector out and put it in another carb? I have tried everything I can think of short of breaking it out of the old carb (which still isn't off the table...) Thanks, Taylor

Broken Carb body...anyone have any ideas

Are the flat sides worth the money? It seems like a lot of work and money if you don't get a dramatic performance increase. I don't know anything about them...:ummm:

Broken Carb body...anyone have any ideas

Do you have a link for those? Will they work with a stage 7 kit?

Broken Carb body...anyone have any ideas

I put my carbs back on after adjusting the float levels, went to start the bike, and gas was pouring out the right rear carb. I checked the screws and one was very loose. Turns out I must have over tightened it and snapped off the bottom corner of the carb. Anyone have any ideas on a fix? Or a...

    Missing a few dust covers...

I noticed I am missing a few dust covers. I plan on replacing them, but I am not sure how quickly I should it. The dust cap on the driveshaft is missing. I think the part missing on the rear wheel is also a dust cover of some sort, but I am not sure. I used the picture of my other bike to show...

Thanks Woody, I'll try that before I rip the sucker apart.

Stage 7 loses power at 7000 rpm

I am at 700 feet. I haven't torn into the carbs yet, but I will tomorrow. Thanks for the ideas.

Stage 7 loses power at 7000 rpm

I bought it and it tipped over on the way home, so it has had the issue as long as I have owned it (about two weeks).

Stage 7 loses power at 7000 rpm

I recently bought an 88 with a stage 7 jet kit and 4 into 1 kerker. It sounds good, but I think it is lacking power, especially at 7,000 rpm. It accelerates smoothly until 6,500 then it will hesitate for half a second, pull to 7,000 and then it is like it hits a rev limiter--no more power. I...

Is it worth putting forks from a 96 onto an 88?

I just bought an 88 Vmax without progressive springs. The bike came with a set of forks from a 96 that are thicker (I guess?). Do I need to bother switching to the 96 forks if I put progressive springs in the original forks? :ummm:

    Air shock pressure?

I have a set of rear air shocks that came on the bike when I bought it. There aren't any markings on them that I can find. Any one know what kind of air pressure I should run in them?

    Bikers can be Idiots too

Great comment there. Now I have to explain to my coworkers why I can't stop laughing.
