Buying a 1st gen with mods. Need opinions on price.

Pretty-much what I said, that getting a sale price of $4K USA would be a fair deal, considering the maintenance and extras. Sure, 'less is good.' but if the seller wants to get decent $ and use the $ elsewhere, then that selling point ($4K USA) seems like a decent sale price.

Congratulations VMax, you made the list!

Yes I've seen that article, it's better-balanced than anything online by the likes of Hot Cars or other online clickbait, which usually get things wrong. I subscribe to Motorcycle Classics. It's one of the few remaining bike magazines.

SUPERCHARGED YAMAHA VMAX - $7,000 (Huntington Beach)

I dunno, it reminds me of a cast iron stove getting really-hot and the flame paint is outside the red-hot core. Maybe lose the diff red to centralize the nuclear reactor appearance. The diff in black might look better. But his bike, his vision for how it looks.

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

It looks decent, what is the light output vs the OEM? Dimmer, about the same, noticeably brighter?

Would you buy this? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

I know what Parminio is saying, the bike wasn't designed to have that additional load on the swingarm. Imagine going around a curve, and you hit some debris, which would be hard to avoid, as you now are tracking three points of contact with the road. It does make sense that feeding the load into...

You are making a lot of 1994 owners sad :(

    Cataracts

Thank goodness the reports from members are positive! One of the things we need to do is protect what we have. Wear a welding helmet, or goggles if it's brazing. If you're using a side grinder or even something as-small as a Dremel cut-off disc, wear a full-face shield! I have two full face...

Hey folks! Prospective and hope to be vmax owner.

I think that's more than I'd pay, but he obviously took care of it. I see it as $4744 USA. If you could get it for $4000 USA/$5480 CAN I'd say that would be a fair deal for something probably not needing any expensive repairs. Make sure it doesn't jump out of 2nd gear when you rev it to say 6000...

1st Gen V-Max The BauTown Special (a build thread)

Member dannymax (email: [email protected]) is a specialist in carburetor rebuilding including the air idle screw extraction issue. CaptainKyle [email protected] and Sean Morley [email protected] are also capable of doing any work you may need done to the carbs. There are parts for the VMax which...

There are plenty of riders who pull a trailer. Kyle has posted pics of his Gold Wing pulling a trailer. You just need to be a cautious operator, not doing anything suddenly which could upset the bike's equilibrium.

1992 V-Max any throttle and it cuts out

Sounds like an excessively lean condition to me. Check all the carburetor rubber donuts, above and below the carbs. Make sure the air cleaner is intact, and properly placed. Use some starting fluid sprayed around the carburetor boots top & bottom, and don't forget where the VBoost bolts to the...

    Who makes this BIG fairing??

45 minutes from the request for info, I'm slipping. One of the advantages of being an OFM (Old Fart Motorcyclist) is that you can I.D. many parts by memory alone. Sean has me beat all-to-hell, CaptainKyle too when it comes to the innards of our chosen ride. If it's carburetion questions then...

Still showing 4301 on the website. I sent Race Tech an email about the error. I asked they notify me when the website is corrected. I am a Race Tech customer.

    Flat tracker Pics!?

The seat/backrest from Corbin costs much-more than that. If someone wanted that combo, regardless of the necro-post, it's a fair deal, if you could get it for that shipped.

Fuel Leak Part II - Completely stumped.

Be careful around friends, they've been known to put a bit of oil or gas under someone's ride to make them think they are still leaking fluids.🤬

Motorycle For Sale 1985 all original 5000 miles

Hey, it's no big deal, they're still around as used parts if the new owner wanted to get them. Maybe your brother put the 1985's into a box somewhere, and installed a later set to prevent the theft of a hard-to-come-by pair of side covers. Maybe your brother installed the separate VMax emblems...
