I go to ace hardware for most hard to find fasteners. take a like one with you and measure it with that do- dad that hangs on the bin. They also have some chrome stuff. Just saying Wayne

While I'm at it...I found that the pickup coils for '85 to '89 1200 are verry hard to find and expensive if you do. Was thinking if a number of us post a request for them, say @ rics electronics, caltric or even exactrep etc. something might happen. I can see many usable bikes being parted...

1986 high beam blue indicator light glows at half brightness when the ignition is on, running or not with the light switch in low beam position and works normal in high beam. Is ths normal for it to glow in low beam? thanks in advance. wayne:cool:

My v boost is not working. I have tested the control unit and motor . the motor seems to operate but the control unit will not put out 12 volts for the motor. Is there a source for repair fo the control unit? thanks .Wayneb

I am wondering about the condition of the trans. The engine was out when i took possesion, so I don't know if there is an issue. It looks good and shifts positive (cases are split). I have heard of second gear problems . is there something I should look for? concerned. much thanks for any tips.

hello i recently got a 86 vmax ,not running. i opened it up to find (37k miles) an attempt to install new pistons and rod bearings had failed. 2 rod bearings had spun, scoring the crank journal. i have heard different thoughts on this... rebuild or not rebuild. if i rebuild , i wonder if...
