Question for those who have added forward controls

Thanks for all who have responded with advice. I will try to make some adjustments and maybe try to change my posture/position. So far I am finding the fwd controls to be a much better riding position than the stock pegs for my needs. Just have to get everything dialed in!

Question for those who have added forward controls

I replaced my seat with a morely seat while bringing the bike back to life and find it much more comfortable compared to the original. Maybe I'll mess around with the control toe height to possibly get them in a more comfortable position.

Question for those who have added forward controls

As a bigger guy, 6'4" and 300#'s, I was having some issues with the stock riding position. I recently added the Refined cycle 14" forward controlls and am very happy with the relief they have given me with my legs, knees, and hips. Unfortunately I am now having lower back pain if riding over...

Forks leaking, just rebuild or upgrade?

As usual this forum has been a huge help. Thanks to everyone who responded! Looking forward to the improved ride.

Forks leaking, just rebuild or upgrade?

So between the advice posted here as well as searching other threads it seems that the Ricor cartridge emulators together with the raceteck springs for my weight would be the best combination. For those using Ricor, I gather they are drop in without drilling the damper rods and wouldn't require...

Forks leaking, just rebuild or upgrade?

Ok thanks for the reply, I didn't realize the Race Tech could be customized. Seems like a better direction to go. As far as oil weight, what circumstances would dictate using heavier weight oil? Also, after adding the upgraded springs do you still charge the forks with air?

Forks leaking, just rebuild or upgrade?

Was getting ready for a ride yesterday and found a red puddle under the front wheel. Looks like both fork tubes are leaking fluid pretty bad. I just ordered the rebuild kit but am looking for feedback on doing some upgrades while I'm in there. From searching on here I found its a popular mod...

    Factory mix screw position off?

Ok cool, that makes sense. Will fiddle around with the screw adjustment and see how it reacts. Thanks to everyone for the advice!

    Factory mix screw position off?

It did seem the slides were making a chuffing sound while accelerating from idle prior to doing the synch.

    Factory mix screw position off?

The carb sync tool came in yesterday so I had been test riding prior to that without them synced. I synced them this morning and took it for a spin. Wow, surprised it made that much of a difference to throttle response. If that screw was in the wrong position would it have effected the synch?

    Factory mix screw position off?

So quick question on the carb mix screws. I removed the factory brass blocker plugs to do the shotgun cleaning technique. While determining how many turns they were adjusted to I found one in an odd position. These are my findings: Right front 1 1/4 Right rear 1/4 Left front 1 5/8 Left...

    Flip up seat replacement

Thanks for the reply and all the info. I have a new odyssey pc680 and all balls carb rebuild kit 26-1640 on the way already. I see that the K&L kit you listed has the gaskets where the all balls does not. May need to return that kit and get the K&L. I did find the link for the factory...

    Flip up seat replacement

I just joined this group due to a recent Vmax purchase that is in pretty bad shape from sitting. Factory seat is ok except for the back rest/tank access. I came across a used seat section on ebay but listing says its from a 85 model. Looking on Partzilla I noticed that the part numbers are...
