    The IGNITECH TCI thread

Thanks RempageR1. I would like to try a tps instead of a map sensor. Did you find any difference or advantage? Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk 4

Very nice job. :clapping::worthy: Is it a 0-5vdc 3 wire TPS? and do you happen to know what the sensor was originally designed for? Do you find the TPS works better for the IGNITECH then a MAP sensor? :clapping::clapping::clapping:

    EFI forum

Hi Sean, I'd be very interested to know how it works for you, when you have a chance to try it out. I think I'm going to try installing it this winter, when I hopefully have more time and I'm not riding it.

Thanks for sharing the info RempageR1. I would also be interested in the TPS your using and how you mounted it. Thanks again!

    EFI forum

I'm seriously looking at installing EFI on my 85 vmax. Has anyone installed the roadstercycle EFI kit? and/or worked with the microsquirt controller?

    The IGNITECH TCI thread

Gary, I don't have the failed MAP sensor. Probably threw it out after I verified the replacement worked from a local auto parts store. I'm not worried about warranty, since I wanted to use the bike ASAP I just picked up a replacement. Never though that you may want to check the sensor out...

    The IGNITECH TCI thread

Thanks for info Gary. I did replace the 6 pin connector, because it looked in poor shape when installing the ignitech. I'll see if I still have the failed MAP sensor. I'll pull the alternator cover and visually check it or should I just replace it as a prevenative measure? The pickup coils ohm...

    Wet float level bouncing!

Yes they call it a wet float level check. It should be 17mm below the markings on the side of the carb body. Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk 4 Beta

    Wet float level bouncing!

So I checked the level a few hours later and the level is stable like you said. It's weird it only does it on cyl 1 & 4 though.

    Wet float level bouncing!

Well I'm going to set the level higher and see if it makes a difference.

    Wet float level bouncing!

Key is off and pump is up to pressure. Had the carbs apart many times due to rust, which I seemed to have stopped. Just disassembled and cleaned about a month ago. The levels on the two carbs are quite low but I don't see how they would bounce.

    Wet float level bouncing!

Ok you should be able to see it now.

    Wet float level bouncing!

    Sorry guys I'll fix that.

    Wet float level bouncing!

The link below is a video of cyl 1 & 4 bouncing up and down and the bike is off. I do have to raise the float level on those 2 carbs. Just wondering why they bounce? http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=URf9HlaAnto :ummm:

    The IGNITECH TCI thread

I installed the ignitech unit about a month ago with Gary's help. It sure is a slick installation and being able to run the vboost off of it is a bonus. The only problem I had was the MAP sensor failed shortly after installing the kit, but at least it was a standard GM 1bar sensor. I have...

    Cam chain tensioner

I removed the exhaust, oil pan and oil pump to get to the screen. The exhaust was the worst part. But used lots of penetrating oil for a couple of days before attempting and the only problem was a broken exhaust that had been poorly welded by a previous owner.

    mixture adjustment screws frozen

I know this is an old thread. But I had luck removing broken or seized mixture screws by using left cut (counter clockwise) drill bits. On my vmax half the screw head was broke off so I couldn't find a good center point. A 1/4" left cut drill bit fits in the hole to act as a guide and I drilled...

    Cam chain tensioner

Just though I would give an update if anyone is interested. So the ticking noise has stopped completely. Had to remove the oil pump cover. The o-ring was in place, but I replaced it with the o-ring from Sean's HD pump kit. While I was in there the pick-up screen was plugged with fuzz (oil...
